Das Center for Biostructural Imaging of Neurodegeneration ist eine wissenschaftliche Einrichtung der Universitätsmedizin Göttingen (UMG) und wird von der Medizinischen Fakultät getragen.

Die im BIN forschenden Wissenschaftler*innen befassen sich mit der funktionellen Bildgebung der den neurodegenerativen Krankheiten zugrundeliegenden Ursachen und der Neuentwicklung innovativer und zukunftsweisender Bildgebungstechniken. Ihr Ziel ist es, die ursächlichen und regulierenden Vorgänge bezüglich neurodegenerativer Erkrankungen aufzuklären.

Um die Ergebnisse der Grundlagenforschung des BIN bestmöglich in die medizinische Anwendung übertragen zu können, besteht eine Kooperation mit dem Deutschen Zentrum für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen, Standort Göttingen, das in demselben Gebäudekomplex ansässig ist.
