Super Resolution Imaging
The BIN’s technology platform “super-resolution imaging” is to include several large-scale equipment systems for which applications for the following equipment have been submitted at the NMWK (Lower Saxony Department of Science and Culture. The “super-resolution imaging” technology platform provides support to researchers with their experiments based on imaging data and analysis. A variety of highly-specialized microscopes should make it possible to gain insights into the living organism.
More efficient experimental methods are to be developed by combining STED (stimulated emission depletion) microscopy with secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS). This new methodology, known as correlated optical and isotopic nanoscopy (COIN), will allow a more exact view into the processes occurring inside cells.
The services of the “super-resolution imaging” technology platform are available, upon application, to scientists of the Georg-August University Göttingen, the University Medical Center Göttingen and the research institutions in the Göttingen campus with which it has co-operations.
